Xeomin

Xeomin is an FDA-approved prescription injectable that blocks the release of chemicals that cause these muscle contractions, softening frown lines.* When you make facial expressions, the muscle under the skin contracts and frown lines form. As your skin ages over time, these repeated expressions cause lasting frown lines.

How does it work?

Most patients find the procedure to be extremely tolerable.* At the Dermatology and Laser Centre, your provider will clean the targeted area and ask you to smile, frown or look surprised. When you make these facial expressions, the muscles that will be injected will be fully activated. Your provider will mark the injection spots with a washable pen and then proceed with the injections (usually 5-20 per session).*

What kind of results can I expect?

Results will vary and depend on the treated area. With most patients, the wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes will become smoother, while the brow will be lifted and the eyelid will open up more.* You will experience improved relaxation and alertness with your overall facial expressions.* For wrinkle reduction, results will vary but improvements usually last 3-4 months before another treatment is necessary.* To maintain the benefits of Xeomin, the time between injection appointments will increase with repeated treatments (up to 6 months).* If you receive treatments too early (less than 3 months), the effectiveness may be reduced.*
