What is RF Microneedling?
RF microneedling, or radiofrequency microneedling, is the ultimate treatment for collagen induction therapy and skin rejuvenation. This treatment combines two amazing technologies that give your skin a boost in plumping, minimizes scars, and provides you with an overall even skin tone.
How does RF Microneedling Work?
The RF microneedling procedure utilizes an energy device that allows for the penetration of a single-use grid of needles through the skin. Then, radiofrequency energy targets the dermis. The full length of the needle is insulated and only the tip delivers the energy, preventing heat buildup at the top layer of the skin. This feature is so important for skin of color since this device does not injure the delicate melanocytes that are concentrated at the junction between the dermis and epidermis.
Benefits of the Treatment
This treatment has been shown to have overall rejuvenating effects on the skin, such as improving skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles; increasing volume via the increased production of collagen and elastin; and by diminishing and improving the appearance of scars.* Other benefits include minimal downtime, minimal risk, short recovery time, natural-looking results, no general anesthesia is required.*
Radiofrequency microneedling may help lessen the severity of melasma by gently distributing the pigment to minimize its presentation. Lighter-skinned people can also benefit from RF microneedling as well because the dark pigment in the skin is not such a concern. There is no downtime and the procedure includes a topical numbing cream for added comfort and takes less than an hour.
If you suffer from acne scars, traumatic scars or have other textural problems with your skin, RF microneedling may be right for you. Patients that have had this procedure report amazing textural improvement even after the first treatment.*
How Many Treatments are Required?
Depending on the condition that is being treated, multiple sessions may be required with an interval of 4 to 12 weeks between treatments.*
Rejuvenation: You will notice improved skin tone and texture within several weeks after every treatment.* A series of treatments is recommended with regular intervals, after which time maintenance treatments are recommended to maintain results as the skin ages.*
Scars and Acne Scars: The nature of scarring is such that every scar responds differently. We often customize every treatment, utilizing a combination of RF microneedling and/or various lasers to address different forms of scarring.* A series of treatments may include a combination of modalities as the scars heal and the skin is regenerated.*
