IPL – Intense Pulsed Light PhotoFacial

IPL – Intense Pulsed Light PhotoFacial

Face make-up has been used for centuries to create a clear complexion and cover up imperfections of the skin. Today, with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) PhotoFacial and other treatments, we can achieve flawless skin and simply use make-up to enhance facial features and “beautify” the skin.*

What is a PhotoFacial?

IPL and Laser Photorejuvenation, or PhotoFacial as it is commonly called, is a non-invasive procedure that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and other lasers to rejuvenate the skin by erasing sun damage and other signs of aging from the face, neck, chest, and hands.* It is an in-office procedure. All treatments are personally performed by Dr. Rubinstein. A treatment program typically includes 3-6 sessions of about 20 minutes each, performed at 3-week intervals.*

What can IPL Photorejuvenation treat?

In our PhotoFacial treatments, two lasers are used as necessary and indicated:

The PhotoFacial addresses the following skin concerns:

The PhotoFacial does not address skin cancer or pre-cancerous skin lesions, melasma, deep pigmented lesions or other conditions. Other treatments are available for these forms of skin ailments.

The face, neck, chest and hands are most popular areas of treatment. The back, shoulders, arms and lower legs can also be treated.

A series of 3 sessions is usually recommended to achieve best results. A pre-paid package of 3 treatments is 10% off the single treatment price.

Treatment may be performed by Dr. Rubinstein, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse. Even though the same lasers and treatment protocols are used, the cost varies depending on the provider.

Why is the PhotoFacial our top procedure?

In addition to treating multiple symptoms and locations in each session, a PhotoFacial is gentle, non-invasive and safe.* Because of this, there is virtually no “down time.”* You see results in the complexion and the skin texture of the entire face.* You can return to your normal routines and activities immediately.* Additionally, treatment parameters are customized to your specific skin type and color, providing the best possible results.*

Our lasers are maintained under warrantees with the original manufacturer with original parts. This ensures consistent, safe and effective results

Who is a candidate for this procedure?

As soon as your skin begins to show signs of aging, sun damage, acne scars, redness or general dullness, a PhotoFacial is the first step in most rejuvenation regimens.* This treatment is recommended for women and men. Treatment may also recommended for the hands, chest, arms, legs or back, wherever you may have sun damage.*

The V-Beam Pulsed Dye Laser may be used alone to treat redness, scars, or other skin conditions with underlying vascular malformation (anything red).

How many treatments will I need?

3-5 treatments are usually recommended and maintenance treatments may be required. More treatments may be necessary for port-wine stains or other conditions. A pre-paid package of 3 treatments is 10% off the single treatment price.

As you acquire new damage and aging in the years to come, it is recommended to have a maintenance treatment annually. One maintenance treatment per year is usually sufficient to maintain results.

How can I prepare for my photofacial treatment?

Discontinue use of retinoids one week prior to the treatment; no sun exposure two weeks before and after treatment.

What can I expect after treatments?

After your treatment, some redness and sunburn effect may be present; freckles may appear darker for up to 10 days. Make-up may be used immediately. Full instructions and precautions will be provided on procedure day or may be requested ahead of time.

Skin care products such as antioxidants, growth factors, retinols and sun protection help maintain results and prevent further skin damage. Schedule a post-treatment consultation with our skin care consultant to design your individualized skin care regimen.
